Pakistan Initiative for Veganism

The name says it all. The primary focus of this group is to spread awareness and educate others, and also to support fellow vegans. The core values of veganism revolves around ethics (animal rights) and goes beyond what we choose to eat, the environmental and health benefits of a plant-based diet are an added bonus! Meat and diary constitute a traditional, now significant and ever increasing part of the Pakistani diet. At the same time, the grain, vegetable, fruit, fungi, and lentils produce in this agriculturally advanced country are various, of quality and cost effective. The vegan options in the traditional cuisine are rich as well. One reason for putting this group together was also to encourage more entrepreneurs to create solutions for people who want to be vegan but find it difficult to find satisfactory vegan food options. We want vegan restaurants, we want vegan fast food, we want different cuisines!
